Merry Christmas :)

I hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas, and enjoyed watching the Packers dominate tonight! Here are a few pictures from my break so far:

I'm wearing a zoo!

This summer, my family spent a week at a lovely beach in Maine for our summer vacation (that's right- no camping this year). It was a week or so before my birthday, so while we were there I bought myself a birthday gift: a (knockoff) Pandora bracelet, and a lobster charm (I was in Maine). I named him Rex.

For our anniversary in October, Jonathan gave me an owl charm. He loves owls, especially the metal one in the original Clash of the Titans, Bubo. Apparently he liked having an easy gift choice, because for Christmas, he gave me a rotund giraffe (Pudge).

And now I'm wearing a zoo.

He also surprised me by asking if I'd go spend a few days with him and his family in New York once the semester ends. On Friday. Pictures will follow :)

Emmy Watching

Today's picture, if you somehow can't tell, was not taken on my camera. I guess things like screenshots and Photo Booth are kind of bending the rules, but I'm ok with that. Anyway, I snapped today's picture using Photo Booth while I was watching the Emmys.

Bumming

Since I had to pick Mom up from work today, Soph, B, and I decided to kill some time by bumming around the mall. First, we found some sweet winter hats at JC Penney's:


Then we found matching gloves!


We did not, however, spend the entire trip messing around. Sophie found a REALLY cute dress at Francesca's, and then we helped her find a good belt to go with it at H&M. (Possibly our first purchase there since it opened- it seems really disorganized and hard to shop in.)

Cartouche

My Aunt Debbie recently went on vacation to Egypt, and I was insanely jealous. Looking at the pictures she has on Facebook didn't help. lol. While she was there, though, she got souvenirs for my mom, sisters, and myself: cartouche necklaces with our names on the front, and a trio of other hieroglyphs on the back. They're REALLY cool :)


According to the card that came with it, the symbols for my name mean "independent one" (S), "powerful and strong person" (A), "talk too much" (R), and "diplomatic person" (H).


The signs stamped on the back are for long life (the ankh), protection (the eye of Horus, one of the ancient Egyptian gods), and good luck (the scarab).

Roses!

Remember way back to my Weekend update post about Dad's rose bushes? We got our first blossom last night! A very exciting affair :) Mom found a cute little vase for it this morning:


Isn't it pretty? Looking at it straight on, you can hardly even see the vase, the bloom is so big!


This particular rose is a Sweetness Rose, and smells incredibly wonderful. I can't wait for more blooms :)
